This one had a few shockers in it. I love this series, one of the best. Each story is unique and you just can't get enough. I understood why Cleo made his decision and thought the way he went about trying to earn Rue's trust again. Rue is a fighter, she has an unbelievably hard job. Fantastic story.

Another home run for Lani Lynn Vale. Life to my Flight was a wonderful story about Cleo and Rue. Cleo is gun shy about relationships and tears Rue's heart out when he leaves her. But don't fret too much that man realizes he can't live without her comes back for her without taking no for an answer. Rue is a sweet girl and Lani gives her the same real person feel and sense of humor she is known for building into her characters. Cleo is hot and very alpha, but he messed up with Rue and nothing will stop him from getting her back. The chemistry between them is smokin, and the very real dangers Rue faces brings her and Cleo closer together and with the help of the rest of the Dixie Warden crew they are able to weather the storm, but the gang does not make it thru unscathed. I HIGHLY recommend you one click this now. If you have never read Lani's books I think you should start at the beginning with the Freebird Series and follow thru to this spin off series. You WILL NOT be disappointed. I can't wait till April to get Torren's story. The chapter she had at the end of LTMF was sooo funny!!
Plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, a little mystery, romance, and enough twists and turns to peak your interest right from the start. This was a great read, so much going on, a second chance at love, a veteran wanting to earn back the trust and love of the girl he wronged and left behind. A strong independent woman just getting by taking care of her grandmother and working in the ER of a hospital. This was a cover to cover non-stop read for me, this is one book you won't want to miss, I can't wait to read the next installment.

Rue is an Emergency Room nurse at a big hospital and sees all sorts of weird things. She’s also been the primary care giver to her grandma who suffers from worsening Alzheimer’s until she has to put her into a care home. But now Rue’s home life may be a little easier, but financially she’s more strapped with rent, bills, food & payment to the care home. Rue has also been nursing a year-long heartbreak. After pushing the issue and having sex with her friend, he leaves her before she wakes in the morning and has been incommunicado ever since.

Cleo has been a ParaRescue Jumper in the U.S. Air Force for many years and has seen what the career does to marriages and the havoc it wreaks. He doesn’t want to do that to Rue because she doesn’t deserve that. He gives into Rue, but walks away after on night together… a night that continues to haunt him with memories. After retirement, he becomes a Life Flight pilot & medic. While dropping off a patient, he runs into Rue.

Even though Rue tries to run, Cleo isn’t willing to let her get away and he is a patient man. He’s determined to be there for her, every step of the way, and he knows that he still has a chance. And this time he’s not going to lose out on this opportunity. He’s going to be there for long-term and will do whatever it takes.

Of course, there are some club dealings and other players that cause problems for the couple. There are things that will have to be taken care of and this also gives us a look at what the next book is going to be about.

I felt towards the end that the pace sped up rapidly and there were several scenes, developing friendships and relationships that I wanted to see instead of being glossed over or entirely skipped. Those friends needed a little redemption and I wanted to see it. There were a couple others, but I don’t want to spoil it. The author’s humor came out again, and it cracks me up!
