I usually use the library for my reading materials, but Ms. Foley is worth owning. In "My Dangerous Duke", I fell in love with the Duke, Rohan Kilburn. He is the shining knight and rogue that women are drawn to. The story is compelling, intriguing, and romantic. I gave it an excellent rating in my own copy.

My Dangerous Duke is exceptional story in the Inferno Club series. This story is Rohan about the Duke of Warrington. He is also know as the Beast and he is an Assassin for the Order Of St. Michaels. In this story Warrington has returned to his ancestral home Kilburn Castle. Some of his tenants have run afoul in his absence. To stay Warrington's punishment too themselves they kidnap a virgin sacrifice Miss Katherine Fox/Kate Madsen.

Once Warrington finds out that Kate is not a doxy but a gently born lady and has been use by the Promethean Council to lure her believed deceased father Capt. Fox in to save her. They want the scrolls from there first leader Valerian the Alchemist and only Capt Fox knows the location of were Valerian is buried along with the cults scrolls. The teachings of Alchemy.

The growing romance and love between Warrington and Kate is a lovely romantic tale. It pretty sensual too. It takes a bit for Warrington to trust Kate because she has Valerian Blood. The story has a host of other wonderfully written secondary characters. The story moves quickly with the H/H being intelligent loveable characters who work together and not separately. The storyline of the ties and the war between the Ancient Inferno Club, Order of St. Michaels and The Alchemist Valerian Promethean Cult Council is expanding and growing. This is a very interesting series and bks.1 and 2 will go on my re read list. Excellent stories! I am looking forward to reading bk.3 My Irresistible Earl.
I Highly Recommend My Dangerous Duke, but I do suggest your read bk.1 first My Wicked Marquess first.

Reading Progress
I so enjoyed this book. My initial read was Notorious Gentleman and I went on-line to get all the books in the series. Each one is better than the next!! I am totally delighted and enthralled by the storylines, the strength of the characters, the delicious love scenes and the way the warriors of the Inferno Club mesh and have moved from book to book. I am thrilled to have discovered this author!!!
At times this book is a bit fantastical but still a page turner. Everyone likes to believe that good triumphs over evil, and this romance is set against such a backdrop. Strong characters facing at times impossible odds, and coming through in the end, especially for each other.
I did not receive "My Dangerous Duke". I have received four other books that I did not order. ( It's OK I have never read them.) They are " A Truly Perfect Gentleman" by Grace Burrows, "Someone to Trust" by Mary Balogh, " The Other Miss Bridgerton" by Julia Quinn and "My One And Only Duke" by Grace Burrows.
I felt the need to write up a quick review because based off some of the negative reviews I read, I almost didn't buy this book and boy would I have missed out! I really liked this book. I hadn't read the fist in the series and I didn't feel like I missed out on any pertinent information. I enjoyed the dynamic between the two leads and really liked the plot. All in all, really good read and definitely worth it!
This book was great, it had mystery, adventure and of course great romance! After reading the reviews I almost didn't purchase it, however I have never been disappointed by Foley so I took my chances. I really loved this story, yes it was a little different that the Knight series but all in a good way. This is one of the few books that brought the tears, and I did not want to put it down especially in the second half. I would highly recommend reading the first book in order to understand the mystery of the second, you won't be disappointed!
I always like the books by Gaelen Foley - this one is more like a really long segmented chapter without too many surprises, but still fits nicely into the series and fluidly continues the plot arc. Since I'm a romance junkie, reading bits while waiting in line during the day, I appreciate that the story keeps on going, book after book. Kudos to Gaelen and also to her editor for well managed continuity through all the volumes of this saga.
